Go Green

Hey, y'all.  I am really starting to feel like myself again!

You can see the tan that brought my facial scarring back to the forefront like crazy in this photo.  Going to buy retinols tomorrow!!!

Today marks, give or take a few days, the 2 year anniversary of the day that my husband's anti-diamond campaign ended.  We'd been fighting over it for a while.  He was convinced that diamonds are a scam, that the prices are totally jacked up, this-and-that-and-I-stopped-listening.  I was of the mindset that I-don't-give-a-damn-because-I-have-waited-my-whole-life-for-a-damn-diamond-and-I'll-be-damned-if-I-don't-get-one.  In the end true love won out, or maybe I'm just incredibly spoiled and loved by an amazing man.  Whatevs.  He sends me the word via text my second day into a Disney World trip with my dad and handicapped brother.

Way to ruin the next 6 days, buddy.  All I could think about was ring shopping.  And if you look at it, he really came out the winner since I got us matching Captain EO t-shirts... we are MAJOR MJ fans up in this piece.

For serious, Matil... the anti-diamond campaign went straight to Hades.

Usually I don't offer recipes on the blog because I want you to follow my Pinterest, but this one is a MUST for me.  The recipe IS on my Pinterest (wink, wink, nudge nudge, know-what-I-mean, know-what-I-mean), but I'll put it here as well.  My crappola health sent me straight back to my juicer and the juice of all juices.  This one is particularly good because it's not stuffed with sugar:

Also, I hate to admit it, but this is a great hangover cure, which hasn't been a problem lately since my body can't really handle alcohol.

Best Green Juice. Period.

5 apples (less is fine)
1/2 bunch of celery with leaves
1/2 bulb fennel (the secret ingredient!!!)
1 cucumber
1/2 head of romaine
1 piece of ginger (1-2 inches worth)
1 peeled lemon (or leave the peel on)
1/2 bag of spinach (buy a BIG bag)
1/2 bunch of kale

We make 2 batches and pour it into 12 oz mason jars.  I freeze all but 4-6 at a time (we drink a lot of this deliciousness).  The mason jars are great both for freezing and shaking the juice up before you drink it, which you will need to do.

Juice away, dear readers.  Let me know how you like it!  Is the fennel not genius?
